Alireza Sheikh received the B.Sc. (Hons.) degree in electrical engineering from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran, in 2011, the M.Sc. (Hons.) degree in communication systems engineering from the University of Tehran, Iran, in 2014, and Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden, in 2019. In 2017 and 2018 he was a visiting researcher at the Institute of Communications and Navigation, German Aerospace Center (DLR), Germany, and later at the SPS Group at TU/e. He is currently a post-doctoral researcher at the ICT Lab, TU/e. His research interests include optical communication, coding theory, information theory, and wireless communication. He is interested in the design of coding schemes with low complexity for the next generation communication systems. He currently serves as a reviewer for different journals in the area of communications such as IEEE transactions on communications.
